Bernard Magee log-books, 1790-1794.

Log-book of a voyage from New York to Canton, China and the return, via the Dutch East Indies, on the ship Nancy. Also, narrative of a voyage on the ship Jefferson, commanded by Josiah Roberts, from Boston, Mass. around Cape Horn, to the northwest coast of North America, and on to Canton, China. Magee describes daily activities at stops, meetings with the natives, and the trading of sea otter skins.

Josiah Roberts was a New Jersey Quaker, born in 1783 to Joseph and Susannah (Cole) Roberts. In 1808, he married Mary French, the daughter of Robert French.
